Let San Antonio’s sights, sounds can help reduce stress

Even for the most relaxed of people, stress can become overwhelming from time to time. That’s when it’s important to decompress and perhaps take advantage of all the calming aspects of San Antonio to help take care of your mental health. Looking for a spot to take it easy? Check out our recommendations below:

  1. San Antonio River Walk. Take a stroll around the River Walk to help clear your mind, enjoy a peaceful boat ride or treat yourself to some retail therapy at one of the many shops surrounding the River Walk.

  2. Texas Hill Country. Head just north of San Antonio to relax and take in the beautiful sights and sounds of nature that the Texas Hill Country has to offer. The breathtaking vistas and the natural wonders are sure to put your worries at ease.

  3. Japanese Tea Gardens. Spend a quiet afternoon in the Japanese Tea Gardens to get a taste of beauty and some unparallelled mental clarity.

  4. San Antonio’s yoga studios. There are a great number of yoga studios all over San Antonio that offer instruction to all experience levels on yoga poses and their accompanying breathing and meditation techniques. Not only is yoga a great way to help relieve stress, it helps you become more fit, as well.

  5. San Antonio’s spas. San Antonio’s spas can provide you with a day of pampering that will do great things for both your body and your mind.

But relaxation techniques can only help with ordinary, situation-based stress.  If you experience intense anxiety disproportionate to what's happening around you, it may time to see a San Antionio psychiatrist or psychologist to help you to better identify the types of anxiety-related stress you are having and guide you on a path to treatment that will give you the tools, medication and training to get back to a healthly state of being.
