Leaking gutters cause complaint
Failed to respond to Charles Manilla's complaint regarding a chimney saddle he says they never installed. Third month in the Box.
A rainy day situation
COMPLAINT: Joan Rehling, Cleves, Ohio
"I hired The Gutter Shutter Company to put gutters on my home in 2003. The company gave me a 20-year warranty on the gutters, which started leaking shortly after they were installed. I called the company, and they sent another crew who re-installed them. The gutters continued to leak.
"I don't think they ever installed the gutter shields correctly. The water flies over the gutter shields, with very little water actually going down the downspouts. I called them and the production manager arranged an appointment for someone to come out to the house. I waited all day and no one showed up or called.
"I wish I would've never completed and signed the papers as soon as I did - I've had trouble ever since. They tried to rectify the job by installing gutters on my barn, and there are leaks all over the barn. At the rate it's going, it'll probably rot the fascia if nothing is done."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want a complete $5,147 refund."
RESPONSE: John Cross, general manager, The Gutter Shutter Company
"We've attempted to reach the member several times to resolve this matter. Our position is we'll do what's necessary to fix her concerns. Her unwillingness to communicate with us makes our efforts futile. Her system is over five years old, and we will not refund her money. Once again, we'd like to help her and fix her concerns."
