Kitchen remodel transforms back porch into pantry, bathroom & mudroom
Robert Troxell of Riverdale, Md., recently hired highly rated Stowe Contracting of Edgewater, Md., to remodel his kitchen and convert the adjoining porch into a pantry and mudroom.
Here’s what Troxell had to say about his experience:
I work in the construction industry and I decided to contract this job out to save me the hassle of doing the work myself. I had just had my first child, so it was imperative that the job was done on time. The job was completed in the time frame I wanted.
Owner Gene Sibley really runs the business well. When the job calls for specific knowledge, he doesn’t hesitate to bring in experts. My house was built in the 1890s and had extensive hidden termite damage that required major structural work that I hadn’t counted on.
This and some other extras inflated the price, but I knew that would happen with the age of the home and all the unknowns. I believed I could be honest with Gene and he would not rip me off. That turned out to be absolutely true.
