Kansas City painting faux pas resolved
COMPLAINT: Cynthia Beasley, Overland Park, Kan.
"Brogan's Painting painted the exterior of my home, including the doors and windows. The initial experience was great. The Brogan team was punctual, friendly and careful.
"Once the trim was painted, I asked Aaron [Brogan, the owner] to repaint it a different color at my expense. He was very patient, worked diligently to make sure the color was what I wanted and adjusted the price to reflect the changes.
"My request caused them to have to work an extra day right before a holiday. They seemed rushed and I looked over things quickly. After they left, I noticed several trouble spots. My husband scraped the paint off a door window they left undone, but we did not know how to repair a bad patch [of paint] on our patio door that occurred due to the repaint.
"We called Aaron immediately and he said he'd come out and fix it. After several weeks, we called again, and he told us again that he'd come repair it. To date, he hasn't.
"We also discovered that two windows weren't repainted the new color. There's also a large streak of paint on our basement window.
"I was so impressed initially with Brogan's Painting. This last discovery of work not done on the front of the house, along with the unfulfilled promise of door repair and the window scraping we had to do, has made me reconsider.
"I can understand the frustration [they] experienced by the extra work my requests required. I did, however, pay in full for what I thought was a completed job."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want the patio door paint repaired, the paint on the basement window removed and the two front windows painted."
