Kansas City Homeowners Hit Jackpot With Bathroom Remodel

3 pros!
Kansas City Homeowners hire Remodeling company to Update their Bathroom with New Tile, Shower surround and Paint, inspired by a trip to Las Vegas.
For years, if Mike McClannahan wasn’t careful where he stood, water from his second-floor master bathroom shower would leak down into the garage of his Kansas City, Missouri home. When Mike and his wife, Marylin, decided to have it done right, they weren’t sure what right would look like.
They were inspired while celebrating their 25th anniversary in Las Vegas. “When I walked into our bathroom at the Bellagio, I said, ‘That’s the shower I want,’” he says.
Mike took a picture of that shower, and he showed it to all of the contractors who gave him a bid on his bathroom remodel. He says every contractor told him they could do it.
But he chose highly rated Mission Kitchen & Bath of Mission, Kansas, because of their very detailed quote and their high rating on the List. “Essentially, when you look at the List, there are some contractors that clearly stand out,” he says.
When the job started, workers stripped off the dated wallpaper and painted the walls in a modern green. They replaced the old ceramic tile in the shower, on the floor and around the whirlpool. After that, they set a new clear glass shower surround and a new toilet.
Mike says Mission Kitchen & Bath reused the existing vanity, doors, trim and whirlpool. “All we did on the doors was we switched out the hardware. Where it was brass, we put on brushed nickel,” he says. “It was just cost, and if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
The final price was higher than the quote because Mike and Marylin decided to use a more expensive tile. After they finished, Mike says he called the company to fix a few minor things, and they always responded quickly.
Mike says he couldn’t be happier with the final product and the company, and he proved it by hiring them to do more work. “We’re getting ready to have Mission Kitchen & Bath do our kitchen,” he says. “We didn’t have to talk to anybody else.”
