Is It Straight? Hang Your Paintings the Right Way!

3 pros!
Add beauty with these simple dos and don'ts.
You fill your walls with paintings, photographs, mirrors and mementos, but are you hanging them right? Even if a Pollock or Banksy is beyond your budget, you still want your art to be shown in its best light and not wreak havoc on your drywall!
Add beauty without leaving a nasty hole by following these simple dos and don'ts.
Do hang artwork so that the center point of the picture or grouping is at about eye level.
Don't hang art over a piece of furniture if it's longer than the width of the furniture! As a general rule, your art should span about 75% of the furniture's width.
Do hammer your nail, screw or hollow-wall anchor at a steep 45-degree angle. This adds extra support!
Don't limit yourself to these rules! If you think it looks better another way, it's your house! Art is there to show expression, so feel free to break the rules!
Do choose smaller pictures for narrow walls and larger pieces for big spaces.
