Failed to respond to Jeff Hicks' complaint requesting a refund for what he says are damages done to his roof during gutter helmet work. Second month in the box.

Hometowne Construction LLC
Hasn't responded to Phyliss Lapin's complaint about an incomplete bathroom remodel. First month in the box.
"Schmidt Automotive Inc. did a complete rebuild of my 1965 Chevy Malibu SS's engine. Five months later, I went to drive the car and a hose fell off, so I called.
They came out and said there was no problem. Then it started running hot and knocking, they said the radiator wasn't good and it needed a high-performance radiator.
I found oil on the spark plugs, which were also bent, too long and hitting the pistons. They wanted me to put new plugs in, but I wouldn't touch it. They said they fixed it, but it's doing the same thing again."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want a $4,000 refund."
RESPONSE: Mike Schmidt, manager, Schmidt Automotive Inc.
"The member brought his Malibu to us to build and install a customized engine.
On completion [of the work], he took a very long time to pay for and pick up his car. Eight months later, he came back for an overheating problem and said water was coming from the exhaust.
The water was condensation due to the car sitting for several months. We recommended a bigger radiator and fans, which he purchased.
We told him the car would always run hotter than normal due to the supercharged blower. We recommended he remove it to get the temperature down to normal - and another garage did exactly that.
Then two months later, he returned to our facility, at which time his vehicle had three burnt-out spark plug ends due to using low-octane fuel, which caused detonation.
For information, we called the other garage and were told that [because of] the boost, bad gas had detonated, causing the engine to fail.
They also said cylinder pressure had knocked the ring lands off three of the pistons - the engine was blown up. We built him the engine he asked for and even went the extra mile by giving him a one-year warranty.
The warranty has expired. The problems he's had are not related to the work we performed."
COMPLAINT: Bonnie Jones, Indianapolis
"I hired ML Contracting to build a deck and fence. They did a very good job on the deck. However, the fence isn't installed correctly.
They installed the boards individually, and they're nailed on incorrectly. The boards also stick out at the bottom because they installed a 2-by-4 too high.
They need to be taken off and put up again. They installed the gates incorrectly as well - they're bowing out and almost unworkable.
I've tried to contact them on several occasions, and they said they'd come and fix it, but they haven't."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I deserve either a full $2,100 refund or they need to remove the fence and gates and install them correctly."

COMPLAINT: Gail Graves, Indianapolis
"Renovation & Remodeling Experts Inc. replaced my roof back in 2006 after a hail storm. The work has a five-year warranty and some of the flashing around the chimney has blown off.
I need them to come back out and put it back on. It's a two-story house and I can't do it [myself]. I've been calling them for a month.
They've given a few excuses but they haven't come to do the work or given me a date they will do so. Now, they won't return my calls. I'm worried the roof will develop a leak."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want them to replace the flashing."
