Indianapolis mechanics rev up good service

Whether you live north in Nora or south in Southport, you’re looking for great service, especially with service and car maintenance. Here’s the latest Post of Happiness for great service from Indianapolis auto repair shops as selected by the Angie’s List Newsroom staff.

Bob’s Garage, Westfield, Indiana

Bob’s Garage helped Steven Lovelady’s sister-in-law out of a jam when she visited from out of town. “I’ve used Bob’s for over two years now to keep a couple of the family’s older cars on the road, without spending a fortune,” he says. “I’ve found that Bob and Bill Esler are trustworthy and keep their word. Rather than running up the bill like other car shops might, they are aware that some repairs are critical an those that can wait are not immediately necessary. The shop is equipped with state of the art equipment and their techs are highly trained for efficient repairs. I highly recommend them.”

Mitch Smith Auto Service, Anderson, Indiana

Mitch Smith Auto Service saved Stephen Berghofer over $1,000 with their honesty. “I took my 2001 Lexus to a local dealer with brake issues and a power steering fluid leak. They told me I needed front and rear brake work and a power steering pump replaced for the second time in three years. They quoted me $2,000, which was close to the trade-in value of the vehicle itself,” he says. “I searched Angie’s List for local, independent shops for a second opinion and came across Mitch Smith’s shop. I called and they got my vehicle in the same day, assessed it and completed the work. They also found a less costly repair for the power steering issue. All in all, I’m extremely happy with the service at this shop and plan to use it for all my future needs. Great people, great service and great value. Props to Angie’s List for helping me find this.”

Main Street Auto Tech, Greenwood, Indiana

Liza Banich dreaded working with mechanics, until she found Main Street Auto Tech. “I brought my car here after getting a quote from a BMW dealership that was more than twice what I ended up paying,” she says. “I was fed up so I searched the list for foreign car mechanics. I can’t get over how Main Street was so easy to work with. They were extremely honest with me and I feel like they really value the customer and take care of us. I’ve never received this kind of care at the dealership. I look forward to bringing my car back to them.”

Falcone Volkswagen & Subaru Sales and Service, Indianapolis, Indiana

Falcone Volkswagen & Subaru earned Chuen Wang’s loyalty 17 years ago. “I purchased a Saab in 1997. It’s been 17 years and they’ve always taken care of issues and done maintenance for me,” Wang says. “Steve Halloran is the service advisor and he’s my regular. He is the most honest, compassionate man I’ve ever met. He is always looking after my family’s best interest. He always explains the condition of the car and gives extremely personal service. He never overcharges, ever. This car has run so well because of him. I definitely recommend this place.”

About Posts of Happiness

At Angie’s List, we regularly hear from members who are ecstatic about outstanding service received from the companies they’ve hired. We think such great service deserves recognition, which is why we feature Posts of Happiness.

We ask our members for nominations when they rate companies with A’s in every category. To qualify, a review must be at least 500 characters about a company’s actual work (not just an estimate) and members need to assure us that they’d hire again.

After a nomination, our staff selects the most outstanding stories to feature. If we choose your nomination, your review will appear in our monthly magazine and even right here on our website.
