HVAC company resolves Dayton-area heat pump issue
COMPLAINT: Marilyn Shade, Miamisburg, Ohio
I hired Stevenson Heating & Air Conditioning to install a new fuel oil furnace and heat pump in my 1920s home. The problems started four months after the installation, at the beginning of the heating season.
I called because the heat pump kept shutting itself down. I've had nine visits with problems since that time.
The thermostat has been replaced three times, and the heat pump compressor had to be replaced. I still don't have a working furnace, even after three calls and two visits.
One service person sent to my house was not qualified to work on my system, and multiple times, technicians came without necessary parts.
DESIRED RESOLUTION: I want my heat pump and furnace to work as they are supposed to, without further cost to me beyond expected maintenance charges.
RESPONSE: Chad Norton, installation manager, Stevenson Heating & Air Conditioning
The member's problems were warranty issues with the thermostat, which have been fixed. We did send out a couple of what we call 'tune-up techs' to do regular tune-ups.
Some of the problems that occurred were normal oil problems due to dirty filters or oil.
