Answered by LCD: If it failed or is failing (as opposed to rotted) you should first get a structural engineer to design the replacement and any supports needed.

Actual replacement depends on what it supports, access, weight and sensitivity of flooring above to movement (laminate versus stone or tile, for instance), etc.

Simple normally installed beam replacement with easy access and just the one pipe interference probably about $200-300 for plumber work and $1000-2500 for the beam replacement, since a fair amount of propping up will likely be needed while it is replaced, and this is going to be very labor intensive work.

Answered by LCD: Looked at this response again as possible reference for answering another similar question, and I may have misinterpreted - I originally read it as one pipe butted up tight against the beam which might need moving to provide working room. If questioner meant a pipe column supporting the beam in the middle, then drop the plumber cost from the estimate.
