Houston-area upholsterer brings Queen Anne chairs new life
Missouri City, Texas, Angie’s List member Deborah B. inherited two Queen Anne chairs from her mother that needed to be re-covered. According to her Pages of Happiness nominated review, the chairs were neglected for some time. “They had been left outside under a tarp for over a year and were in horrible shape,” she says.
Deborah hired highly rated D&B Upholstery of Missouri City to do the job because she had owner Denrick Harris complete work for her in the past. She says Harris previously built a large ottoman to her specifications and rebuilt her old love seats. “He made them much more comfortable and more contemporary looking,” Deborah says.

Deborah likes that Harris picks up the furniture and returns it when the job is complete, she says. He also offers good advice, and he even went to the department store with her to help pick cushions for the couch project, she adds. “Denrick’s work is exemplary, and he’s wonderful to work with,” Deborah says.
Deborah was concerned that she didn’t buy enough fabric to re-cover the chairs, but she says Harris had plenty, and even returned a couple of yards to her. Deborah says she’s very pleased with the finished chairs. “They are beautiful and comfortable,” she says.
Deborah is ready for her next project. She wants to re-cover her dining room chairs. She has already had Harris help pick the leather that will be used.
