Houston-area members’ outdoor kitchen completes dream backyard
Houston-area members John and Kathy Bailey purchased their home based on the lot’s potential. They knew before they moved in that they wanted to add a pool and an outdoor kitchen.
Once they installed the pool, it was time to build the outdoor cooking spot. “I wanted a professional-style outside kitchen that you could walk out to, turn it on and away you go,” John says.
The Baileys hired highly rated Infinite Construction of Houston to build their outdoor living space based on the number and content of their Angie’s List reviews. John says owner Charles Teer created the initial design and melded the Baileys’ ideas with some of his own suggestions. “It’s our style and what we wanted,” John says. “He [Teer] had some input, which was helpful.”

John says the most important aspect of completing this type of project is minding the details. He says it’s important to get the layout right. After that, he says you need to make sure you know what the fixtures and finishes will cost. John says they made some changes during the project, but everything was handled in person or over the phone.
He says the new space really complements their home. “It’s a joy to go outside,” John says. “The kitchen fits in with the environment and it’s a place where people want to congregate.”
