Homeowners expand concrete patio for entertaining
For about four years, Angie’s List members Michael and Kristol Wayman thought about all the outdoor get-togethers they would have at their Kyle, Texas, home if they expanded their tiny patio. Once the timing and finances were right, the couple proceeded with their dream. “We were finally in a position to move forward with the project,” Michael says.
They received multiple bids, but decided to hire highly rated T-C Construction in New Braunfels, Texas. Michael says owner Tim Marlar was friendly, professional and helpful, and his price was right in the middle. “We knew what we wanted to do, but he was able to give us advice and guidance on what we needed to do,” he says. “He was also able to give us different options so that we could make an informed decision.”
T-C Construction poured over the old patio, which was under the roof outside the back door, and they added on a 15-by-31-foot concrete patio. Michael says the job took one week, and Marlar took pictures and kept them in the loop during the process since they weren’t home to watch.
When they returned home after the patio was completed, they immediately placed furniture onto it. Michael says they’re excited to invite people over to enjoy the new chairs, umbrellas, festive lighting and fire pit. “It’s a huge improvement to our backyard and will potentially increase resale value if ever that is a possibility,” he says. “The best part about the patio is that we have it and can do some outdoor entertaining."
