Homeowner says Wisconsin company never paid subcontractors for remodel
I hired Edward Bros. Home Improvements in Franklin, Wisconsin, to remodel my kitchen. It was supposed to take four weeks, but instead took 3.5 months.
I changed the cabinet design, which caused some of the delay, but days would go by and I didn’t know if they were coming or not. I would call and be sent to voice mail or email them and it could take several days for them to answer.
When they finished the work, I made the final payment and thought that would be the end. I was wrong. A month-and-a-half later, I got a notice from a subcontractor, saying that Edward Bros. hadn’t paid them. That company tried to contact Edward Bros. to no avail.
So, I started calling Edward Bros. two times a day for more than a week. Then, I emailed Edward Bros. several times. After almost two weeks, I finally got an email saying they’d look into it, but they still haven’t resolved the problem.
I want Edward Bros. to pay the subcontractors or to give me the $1,470 and I will pay them.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
