Homeowner says Waxhaw appliance repair tech won’t return to repair his work
I hired Waxhaw Appliance Repair of Waxhaw, North Carolina, to repair my refrigerator’s ice maker. The technician showed up in his personal car, without a uniform, and told me that he could fix it.
The price was expensive, but I had already paid in advance for the service call and was told that it would be credited. The next day, he came back to fix it and told me I’d have to call his manager in Pennsylvania because they had not received either of my payments.
His manager turned out to be his wife — a total fiasco. But he did get it working. Three weeks later, I had the very same problem and the company says it’s up to the technician to warranty his work and it’s not their problem.
I thought this was a local company. Instead, they hire out jobs to technicians who apparently have no accountability and who are temporarily in the area.
Days later, neither the company nor the technician will return calls. I want a $350 refund and I want them to repair the ice maker free of charge, using a different technician.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
