Homeowner says Rio Rancho contractor’s stucco work led to water damage
I hired Anthony Specialty Construction of Rio Rancho, N.M., to provide new synthetic stucco along with other construction services. Within eight months, I discovered that the stucco was cracking on almost all the parapets. The cracks allowed water into my house and caused water damage to all areas of the ceiling.
After many months of trying to get Anthony [Rosete III, owner] back to my house, he showed up with a stucco subcontractor who added the fiber mesh material and applied a color coat of stucco. Now the problem is that neither the color nor texture match.
Anthony’s refusing to re-color coat the house, address the water-stained ceiling, and finish a punch list of items from the original contract. In addition, a electrical subcontractor showed up at my house and said Anthony never paid him. I paid the sub $600 for work Anthony didn’t complete.
Anthony has said in an email that he’s not willing to complete the work. I want a $600 refund and for Anthony to finish and correct the substandard work or pay for another contractor to finish the job.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
