Homeowner says Phoenix cable company overcharged him
I contracted Cox Communications of Phoenix for my cable, Internet and phone service for 2 1/2 years. They keep raising prices and charging me for things they say they won’t.
When I had my original installation, they put my modem in a place that made the signal hard to access. I also had a problem with the TV picture. I went to the Cox store and they promised to send someone out. I told them I’d get an independent source if they were going to charge me.
The tech fixed the problem, but on my next bill I got charged $49 for the visit. I called and they promised to remove the charge, but on the next bill it was there along with a late fee. I called and they said the charge was because the reason for the call was my fault. Also, when I signed up for service, I was told the bill would be $99 a month, plus tax. Now, a long distance service has been added to my line that I didn’t ask for and the bill is $160 a month.
Cox has been a rip off. I want a $49 refund.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to mediate disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
