Homeowner says Pearland landscaper didn’t cover his ground
I hired HB Lawn and Landscaping in Pearland, Texas, to clean flower beds, add mulch to all beds, trim shrubs and install a semi-circle bed with shrubs in the front yard. Owner Hunter Bernal overpriced the job, was immature and short on job knowledge.
The semi-circle bed was a rectangle and he didn’t prep the soil before adding petunias. He left the site several times to take 2-hour lunches. I spoke with Hunter about the missed mulch in some of the beds. He said he would come back, but never did.
I want a $300 refund, or he can return for spring cleanup to remove all freeze damage, leaf accumulation and re-mulching missed or skimpy beds, and bring four dwarf nandinas shrubs.

I am very sorry the member felt I was immature. I performed everything that needed to be done.
My absences during the job were to get materials. If what was on the estimate isn’t what the member desired, she should have said so before signing the estimate.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
