Homeowner says Maryland painting company didn’t do repairs
I hired Dorsey & Sons Painting of Elkridge, Maryland, to power wash my front deck, back deck and my house. They replaced some rotting wood and painted the back deck and front of the house. They caulked, patched and primed as necessary.
The job has parts that are really bad. Some of the rotting wood spots were never replaced. The worker missed a couple of areas. There was another area that was not even painted. There’s some replacement wood in the front that looks horrible. There’s one section of the house that did not get two coats of paint. They haven’t responded to calls or emails.
I want them to meet me at my home and review the job. I want them to replace the sections of wood identified for replacement and stain and paint them. I expect them to paint the sections on my roof that were not painted at all. I expect them to sand the pimpled trellis board and repaint it. I also expect them to put more paint on the front of my house and on the trellis boards that look very patchy, and apologize for the poor customer service.

I have made contact with the member to ensure him that we would take care of all of his issues. He is on the schedule for next week to have his work taken care of. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Penalty Box — Broken Promise
Editor’s note: The service provider agreed to complete the work, but never followed through, landing them in the Penalty Box for a broken promise.
Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
