Homeowner says Indianapolis handyman took her money and ran
I hired J A Carlson General Repair of Indianapolis for painting and general contracting on a rental property of mine.
The painting and repair work went very well. Jamey [Carlson, the owner] did a great job, so I asked her to repair an exterior door as well. She told me the door needed to be replaced and I gave her a $700 deposit to purchase it. Unfortunately, during this time she had a terrible life experience and the work and contact stopped. I went around her company and asked the door company for the order. However, they said the door was broken and they needed another $700 to replace it. I finally replaced it myself at a much higher price. Finally, Jamey contacted me and said she’d reimburse me for the door, but I never heard from her again. I wish her well, but I want a $700 refund.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
