Homeowner says Goodyear appliance technician never showed, acted belligerent
I made an appointment with Prompt Appliance Service of Goodyear, Arizona, to repair an appliance the following day between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
I called at approximately 1:20 the day of the appointment and spoke with the same gentleman. I explained that I had not heard from or seen the tech. He said he would call me back.
After about 30 minutes, I called him again. He told me the tech was on my side of town, but busy fixing another client’s stove. The tech would call me when he was on his way.
We had to leave the house at about 6 p.m. to attend my son's school program. The tech had my husband's cell phone number and my husband could be back at home in 10 minutes.
The next morning, I called and spoke with the same gentleman and told him the tech didn’t call or come over. He said, "I don't know what the dealio is. He told me he was out there." He didn't say anything else, but made these clicking noises with either his tongue or his teeth.
At this point, I told him I’d had enough and felt their actions warranted a complaint. He told me to make sure I also told them that he called me a derogatory name, which he then proceeded to do, and hung up.
I want an apology and a $39.50 credit I was supposed to get toward my repair service to use with another company.

Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
