Homeowner says Chicago-area mover refused to complete job
I hired All My Sons Moving & Storage of Woodridge, Ill. to move my furniture out of a condo. On the day of the move, they said they couldn’t dismantle my entertainment center because the top was “nailed” down. They had not told me about any special arrangements prior to the move, despite noticing the entertainment center at the original estimate. I had to leave the entertainment center behind.
Because the condo wasn’t empty, I had to cancel appointments for a move-out cleaning and carpet cleaning, as well as plans to list the condo for rent. I spent quite a bit of time talking to All My Sons, trying to figure out how to get the center to my new home, or to give a refund since the original estimate had included the center. All suggestions were rejected. I had to spend $1,200 to rent a truck and move it myself.
I would like them to give me a refund or reimburse my expenses to move the entertainment center.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
