Homeowner says careless moving company damaged goods
We hired ABC Moving & Storage in Chesterfield, Missouri, to move furniture and household goods from one house to another.
It went terribly. The moving crew was unprofessional. They damaged several furniture items, including the mirror in the china cabinet. They charged a $250 deductible, when they should have covered the full cost of the repair. Additionally, they were not upfront about the cost to move our bed. They quoted approximately $400, but failed to tell us that was just for the breakdown. They charged another $500 for the bed set-up.
I have moved numerous times in my life and never experienced such as carelessness nor the type of customer service we received. This company also damaged or scratched several other furniture items.
I am requesting a refund of $850. This is for the misquote on moving the bed and the deductible for the damaged china cabinet, and it reflects that other items were scratched and damaged. In view of our dissatisfaction with the provider's service and the company's lack of response to remedy the issue, I believe this is more than justifiable.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
