Homeowner says Bates City asphalt company left shoddy work
I hired AMF Home and Driveway Renovations of Bates City, Mo., to install a driveway for me. The work was supposed to be for an asphalt equivalent driveway that passed inspection for an entrance. They didn’t do what needed to be done and didn’t get permits. They told me that the work was up to city code standards, but the city turned down the work. The company lied. Also, they were supposed to pull a permit for the work, but didn’t. It wasn’t a good experience at all. I’m still in a mess with the city over this and can’t afford another driveway since I’ve already paid this company $1,500. I want the job completed by topping the asphalt or half of my money returned so I can hire another company to complete the job and get the required permits.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
