Home improvement contractor ignores water heater complaint
Harmon Home Improvement
Didn't respond to Judith Bryant's request to provide a receipt and warranty information she says she did not receive with her new water heater.
[Six Forks Road, Raleigh]
COMPLAINT: Judith Bryant, Durham, N.C.
"I asked Yuthan Harmon, owner of Harmon Home Improvement, to replace my old water heater with a new tankless water heater. Short story: I had no hot water for four days.
"The first water heater would not work and he had to send it back and wait for a new one. Then he told me that the plumbers he hired did not complete the job properly. I can understand that, too. No problem. I didn't mind that.
"The thing that really bothers me is that I paid $1,700 and I am still waiting for my warranty and receipt. I have called and left message after message. He will not return my calls. I have my returned checks, but it's the principle of the thing.
"I had explained to him that I need the receipt to claim the tax credit. I have also sent e-mails and he does not respond."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want my receipt and warranty for the water heater that Harmon Home Improvement installed."
