Helpful holiday tips
  • Store spare wrapping paper in cardboard tubes and tape a small piece of the paper to the outside for easy identification. Or slap a "Hello, my name is..." sticker on them.
  • Recycle old greeting cards by writing holiday recipeson the back. Be sure not to send the card to anyone next year: No one wants another fruitcake recipe!
  • Traveling for the holidays? Use a big rubber stamp and paint to decorate your suitcases so they're easier to find at the airport. Just don't use the stamp that says "WARNING: EXPLOSIVES!"
  • If you have pets, don't use popcorn strands on your tree, as they can be deadly. Plus, you don't want your home to smell like a stale movie theater, do you?
  • Buy a few extra gifts, such as chocolates, in case you forget somebody or have unexpected guests bearing presents. If you don't give the gifts away, you have an excuse to eat more chocolate.
  • Make sure you charge your camcorder batteries before getting together with family - you don't want to miss YOUR cousin Eddie's impersonation of Aunt Bethany from "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation."
