Gambrills landscaper knocks out established flower bed, member says

Member complaint

I hired Joseph Weller of Gambrills, Md., to landscape by pulling weeds and trimming hedges. I’d used Weller the year before, and he did a good job, so I rehired him. The crew pulled up all of my black-eyed Susan perennials that were planted before I moved in 14 years ago.

After he did the work and I paid him, I realized his crew pulled the flowers and that area was bare. I talked to him one time by phone to let him know about my complaint. I told him I talked to a nursery that carried black-eyed Susans, and it would cost about $175 to replace them.

He never returned my calls after this to fix my complaint. I want him to provide and plant enough new plants to fill the original space.

Have a complaint?

Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement. Water conservation starts with careful plant selection. Mulch lets soil retain moisture. Grass and trees can do without water for weeks.
