Durham patio work peeves customer

Durham patio work peeves customer

COMPLAINT: Melissa Kerkau, Durham, N.C.

"I contracted Peak Home Improvements in Apex, N.C., to form, pour and coat a patio with CTI, a product that imitates sandstone. I paid for the entire $6,000 job upfront. The work was delayed multiple times. Then, as work was nearing completion, an employee broke my window with debris from his pressure washer. Rob [Appel, the owner] agreed to pay $80 to fix it but hasn't paid.

"A couple of months after the patio was finished, two long cracks appeared. Rob was notified, but because winter was coming, we arranged to make the repairs in the spring. Since then, I've not been able to reach him."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I would like to have the warranty repairs completed as agreed and to be reimbursed for the window they broke."
