Durham movers resolve consumer complaint
I hired Trosa Moving of Durham to load up the truck for my move from Raleigh, N.C., to Albuquerque, N.M. This is a non-profit organization that gives jobs to recovering alcoholics. That sounds great, but I was very displeased with the job they did.
It looked like they had just thrown the items into the truck; everything was in disarray. Every piece of wooden furniture that I own has scratches and gouges on it due to the move. The dryer has a dent in the top, too. They also damaged my 140-year-old heirloom table, after I’d specifically asked them to be careful with it.
I rented 24 moving blankets and they only used 10 of them. It didn’t seem like they knew what they were doing.
I contacted them and didn’t hear back. I’d like a refund of $250 to cover the loading cost, rental for blankets they didn’t use and repairs to my damaged items.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
