Driveway damage in Denver creates drama

COMPLAINT: Joye Morey, Highlands Ranch, Colo.
"I sealed the areas they worked on like they told me to, and it looked great.
"Shortly after, there was a crack on the sidewalk that they said they would not fix unless it got worse. After that, the driveway started to crumble.
"I called them, and they came out to fix that one spot. A year after they put it in, it started to crumble in other places.
"They won't do anything about it, saying that's just what concrete does and that it doesn't come with a lifetime guarantee.
"I think a driveway should last for more than two years. They won't return my calls."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I would like them to refund the money so I can get a reliable company to replace my driveway.
"I think they should be responsible for at least $2,500, which would be a little over half of what I paid for the driveway, sidewalk, steps and porch."
COMPANY RESPONSE: Robert Hoffschneider, president and owner,
Affordable Concrete Work
"I held up my one-year warranty. After one year, many things can be put on concrete to cause damage, including fertilizer, antifreeze and salt."
