Drain line replacement requires detective work

Member name Robert Passovoy
Company name Hannah's Plumbing & Maintenance
Location Berwyn, Ill.
Category Plumbing
Work done? Yes
Hire again? Yes
Approximate cost $1,465

Description of work: "After our usual drain cleaners had their power rod break off in the tub drain, I knew it was time for replacement, and I called Hannah's to replace the drain lines from the top floor to the basement.

"They said the pipes seemed to disappear on the second floor and magically reappear in the basement. Subsequent measuring led to the discovery of a secret panel behind a utility closet that revealed the missing pipes."

Member comments: "Their plumbers showed up on time and did the job with no wall or floor damage. All the pipes are draining beautifully, and the upstairs bathtub has a new drain stopper. They finished eight hours ahead of schedule and $400 under budget - on a Saturday."
