Dog walking prevents destructive behavior

When Joel Colegrove's trusted dog walker suddenly went out of business, Margaret Daley, the owner of highly rated Daley Care LLC, a Medford-based animal boarding kennel and dog walking business, came to the rescue.

Colegrove and his two Labrador retrievers, Maggie and Mikey, have appreciated Daley’s professionalism and her dog walking techniques, which have shown positive results.

"Margaret believes in letting the dogs run together in groups of up to six," Colegrove says. "It greatly improves their social skills." Colegrove says Maggie and Mikey always enjoy their off-leash walks with Daley, which leave them tuckered out at the end of the day.

Without adequate exercise, Daley says dogs may develop destructive behavior problems. To avoid incessant barking or lapses in housebreaking, she suggests allowing dogs to run and play with other animals and people. Overfeeding dogs treats may make them happy, she says, but it will also make them fat, which could lead to health problems.
