"I hired George's Home Improvement to install a new pre-hung exterior door and a new storm door. I was initially pleased with his work, but since the doors were installed, I've been presented with a safety hazard.

At the age of 78, I can't afford to be tripping over the threshold when I leave the house. My daughter called him on my behalf and he said he was trying to save me money.
I was not concerned with price but rather with getting the job done right. He told me he'd come back and fix the door for $150.
My daughter got him down to $100 and I agreed to pay, even though they were his mistakes. He's canceled on me three times. All I want is my door fixed."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want them George Walton to fix the problem with the door at no charge or refund my $402 to have someone else fix the problem."
"The member wants work done that wasn't part of the contract at no charge. I told the member the room was out of alignment and I needed to raise the threshold's corner three-quarters of an inch for the new door to fit.
She agreed - she wanted it done the cheapest way possible. When I finished, I had her use the door several times to make sure everything was good and she said it was.
A week later, her daughter called saying they weren't happy and that I needed to fix the job. I told them that I'd come out and install a new threshold but I would charge $150, as it wasn't part of the contract.
They agreed on $100. I did cancel my appointment twice. The morning of the last appointment, I called her to confirm and she was very rude, so I didn't go."
