D.C. electrical company and unhappy customer disagree
COMPLAINT: Ed Spitzberg, Bethesda, Md.
I hired Taylor & Taylor Electrical Service of Washington, D.C., to upgrade my system to 200 amps. I negotiated a date and price with [Gerald] Taylor. He was out of town, so he sent another electrician, Mike Lynch, to act as his agent. When the electric company came to hook it up, they found he installed a 150-amp wire instead of the 200-amp wire I paid for. I had to use another electrician to do the work correctly. I gave them seven months to try and correct the situation, but they never did.
DESIRED RESOLUTION: I would like a refund of the $2,100 I paid to the Taylor & Taylor electrician.
RESPONSE: Gerald J. Taylor Sr., owner, Taylor & Taylor Electrical Service
The job was discussed by the member and Mike Lynch. The inspector signed off on it as being done correctly, and all checks were made out to Mike Lynch and cashed by Mike Lynch. I will not pay you a dime back. I have a clean record and will keep it.
