Customer concerned about rust spots on pool surface

Customer concerned about rust spots on pool surface

COMPLAINT: Kathy Bailey, St. Petersburg, Fla.

"I hired Pinellas Marcite Finishers to resurface my swimming pool. They were very prompt in responding to phone calls and getting the project completed, but once the job was done, they were terrible at returning phone calls.

"The application was done well and looked good at first. But a few months later, black spots and rust spots began to appear throughout the pool. I placed four phone calls to them regarding the problem. They responded to two of them and said they'd look at the pool.

"I haven't seen or heard from them since that conversation."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I would like the company to either remove the spots or redo the entire pool surface."

RESPONSE: Sue Fortenbery, owner, Pinellas Marcite Finishers

"The member has tiny dots of rust on the new pool finish. I showed her how it would buff off. The dots will be removed as soon as the pool water is warm enough to send a diver into the pool."

Subject: pool covers..

If you want a pool cover that is custom made it will cost you a lot..but if you want a standard pool cover that may be a bit bigger than your pool. You are in luck, they only cost a couple hundred dollars (after the pool company mark up). Remember they need to make some money too. The standard rule is double the price and add an "installation charge". If you need a $50.part it will cost you $100 and the " installation charge" ( sometimes called a "service charge"). But remember they need to take the time to go pick up the part, then schedule the install, and then drive there to install it. It all takes "time" which is what you are really paying for..

Subject: Pool covers

We have been looking for a "reasonably" priced pool cover. Our pool is 22 yr old in ground pool. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
