Customer claims 'sloppy work' on wax seal
COMPLAINT: Steven Hirsch, Chula Vista, Calif.
"I hired TLC Plumbing Inc. of San Diego to replace the wax seal on a toilet. They charged me more than $255, which I didn't think was fair since they had just replaced the same wax seal 18 months ago. They said they warranty their work for 90 days, but a wax ring should last longer."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I think they should repay the majority of what they charged me to do their originally sloppy work."
COMPANY RESPONSE: Diane Condon, office operations manager, TLC Plumbing Inc.
"Our technician explained there were additional issues with your toilet the first time we replaced the wax ring. You declined to have us further assess the problem and agreed to have us continue the work. Had you allowed us to properly repair the issue to begin with, the wax ring would have likely lasted much longer than 18 months."
