Crystal River roofer refunds homeowner’s repair deposit
I hired AAA Roofing of Crystal River, Florida, to do some work on my roof. I gave the owner, Rutherford Miniard, a $50 deposit toward the repairs several months ago.
No work was done. I want a refund and to warn others of his business practices.
Ron Wilson, Homosassa, Florida
We contracted with the member to install ventilation on his double-wide mobile home.
After the member paid a $50 deposit, our crew chief scheduled a date to do the work. When the crew chief arrived, the owner refused to let him do the installation. He said he would reschedule when he decided what to do.
The member never asked the company to refund his deposit, since deposits are non-refundable. If I had known the customer requested his deposit back, I would have returned it.
Rutherford Miniard, president
Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
