Cost to Relevel Mobile Home

Question by Guest_98614507: cost to relevel mobile home
Answered by Colander: I do this sort of work all of the time and the cost varies significantly with the size of the home and what needs to be done.
You can get a good idea of the situation by taking a look under the home. If you are on a slab and the slab looks good (no significant cracks or breakage) chances are you’re not too far out of level and costs should be minimal, perhaps under $300. If your home is on a shoddy concrete slab or a gravel pad and is significantly out of level (you can easily see it or feel it inside) the costs will be much higher. If your house is out of level and on jacks or concrete blocks that are sitting nice and plumb the cost should be less than $500. If the jacks or concrete block columns are out of plumb (leaning/crooked) the cost could approach the $1000 mark if all of them have to be reset. Resetting jacks is less expensive than resetting block columns.
It is often the case where a few columns have to be reset and a few adjusted and a few are still where they should be. That is the reason prices can vary from $150 to over $1000. For example, in a double-wide with 36 block columns that are all leaning significantly and all have to be reset, the cost could exceed $1500 to relevel the whole thing. Although, comparing that to the cost of picking the house up off of the ground and releveling then fixing everything that broke in the fall, you’re looking at a significant savings.
Answered by LCD: Don't know from experience, but I know it usually takes from 1-2 hours (3-4 in areas with tornado tiedowns) depending on whether you have jacks or shims - this assumes it has not been tied down to a permanent foundation, in which case it becomes more like levelling a house - expensive. So, probably in the $200-400 range, based on labor costs.
Answered by Mickeyallen: Cost to relevel a mobile home has went up in recent years. The cost to relevel a single wide 14x70 or smaller regular height (36 inches from the ground), vinyl skirting, regular set within 3 inches out $800.00 to $1,000.00 and can exceed this if the home has brick skirting is raised or lowered than a normal set or is more than 3 inches out of level also price is usually higher for 16 ft wide homes . the cost for a double wide mobile home that has vinyl skirting ranges regular setup vinyl skirting $1500 to $2000 anything with brick skirting usually ad an additional $500 due to limited access. Can exceed this amount if home is raised or lowered or more than 3 inches out. Be prepared to pay a higher price for better service this should be performed every year as regular maintenance just as you would change oil in your car relevels should always be done before doing any repairs to home
