Consumers bought more health food in 2009 than in 2008

By keeping tabs on supermarket sales of healthy foods, including fresh produce, The Nielsen Company is monitoring the impact of health and wellness initiatives.
The Healthy Eating Index shows consumers appear to have eaten somewhat healthier in 2009 compared with 2008, but health experts say we still have a long way to go.
