Consumer says Virginia Beach HVAC company performed shoddy work
I hired R & B Mechanical of Virginia Beach to install a new A/C unit. When the gas company came to turn on the gas, they discovered gas leaking from a pipe under the house. My husband and I made 15 calls to the technician to service the new unit and repair the leak, but he would not return any phone calls.
I called from another phone, and he answered immediately. I told him about the problems, and he came two days later. He informed us that all pipes under the house needed to be replaced, which cost $1,200. I received a second opinion, and their technician indicated that the problem was with one copper pipe only, which cost $240.
After the pipe repair, the unit had a faulty control board and still didn’t operate, and the R & B technician continued to ignore calls and texts.
I want a $363 refund.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
