Consumer says Silver Spring cleaning company damaged ceramic tile
I hired Surface Medics of Silver Spring, Maryland, to clean the tile and grout in two bathrooms. The two service technicians were pleasant, but had very sloppy work habits.
They placed their machine and rags directly on the carpet adjacent to the bathroom without protecting it. They dripped water on the carpet and hallway wood floors.
They even asked if they could use my dryer to dry some wet rags. I was a little taken aback, but let them do it. The surface of the tile was damaged, almost as if something caustic was put on it. Now, it’s blotchy and unsightly.
The same service technicians who did the work came to look at the damage and said they would be in touch to schedule repair work. I haven’t heard from them despite numerous phone calls and an email.
I want the damaged floor tile in the master bathroom repaired.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
