Consumer says Sherman Oaks dry cleaner lost her pants
I took my clothes to Steamer Cleaners of Sherman Oaks, California, for dry cleaning.
After picking up the dry cleaning, I realized my $278 pants were missing. I went back to the dry cleaner immediately, and they accused me of lying about the pants. As a customer of 20 years, I’ve never experienced a problem like this. The dry cleaner is under new ownership.
I followed up several times to see if they found the pants, and they haven’t.

The store manager told me that they believe I’m lying about my pants, and they aren’t going to do anything. They wouldn’t provide the name of the owner.
The manager told me they counted the items, although they didn’t. The manager said he would get back to me, but I haven’t heard anything.
I want to be reimbursed $278.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
