Consumer says Orlando appliance repair company failed to fix noisy dryer
I hired Sears Home Services of Orlando, Fla., to change the belt in the dryer because it was making a loud high-pitched noise. I also wanted them to evaluate a noise from the washing machine. The service technician said the washer’s ball bearings needed to be replaced and were under warranty, but the labor cost would be around $300. The noise in the dryer lessened, but a clicking noise started.
I called Sears and was instructed to schedule another appointment. I was given a time window. so I cleared my schedule and waited all morning for him. The technician never showed or called. He attempted to come after the scheduled time, but I was no longer home.
I called Sears again and they requested that I make another appointment with a four-hour time window. I would not agree to this and requested that I should be first repair of the day due to the problems I was having with them. I also requested that they send a different technician. They agreed and scheduled the appointment, but once again, no one came. I called and asked to speak with a supervisor. They took my information and said a supervisor would call in the next two hours. I never got a call, but the technician who had previously been out showed up again. I told him that I had requested a different technician.
The dryer still isn’t fixed and they haven’t even started on the washer. I want a $175 refund.
