Consumer says Lake Mary diagnostics lab won’t resolve billing error
I received a bill for a test I had done at Quest Diagnostics of Lake Mary, Fla. However, I am entitled to one test per year that Medicare covers.
I called a Quest supervisor, and she said she’d try to resolve the issue and call me back later. That never happened.
I then spoke to the nurse, who said that the coding was correct. A Medicare representative told me the problem was that Quest didn’t send enough medical documentation to support the test.
My doctor’s office double-checked on what needed to be sent to Quest and told me that they had sent everything that was needed. I am unable to get this resolved no matter what I do!
I would like them to waive the balance that I owe.

Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
