Consumer says Houstoncontractor never laid hardwood floor
I hired Javier Martinez Contracting of Houston to remove carpeting in the living room and install wood flooring, replace the toilet and tub in the master bathroom for $4,500.
I gave Javier a $2,000 deposit when he came to my home to replace about five tiles in the kitchen. They removed the carpeting, but didn’t lay the wood floor. Martinez was supposed to use the deposit to purchase the wood flooring.

He never came back to finish the job despite continuous calls from me. Later, he told me he had a lot of problems, but was ready to complete my job. However, he told me his distributor wasn’t open, and he would go get the materials and come back and finish my job. He never followed through.
I want a $1,925 refund.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
