Consumer says Houston movers overcharged her

Member complaint

I hired Stuttgart Movers of Houston to move my belongings from a one-bedroom apartment on the second floor to a one-bedroom townhome on the second and third floor in the same complex.

Originally, I received a quote of $140. The movers worked slowly, cursed, broke my fan, dumped most of my items downstairs, and increased the price. They threatened not to unload my items unless I paid $365. The mover also tried to get out of moving my washer by saying the hose was screwed on too tight, but magically moved it after receiving payment.

I want a full refund.

Have a complaint?

Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
