Consumer says Houston appliance repair company botched refrigerator rebuild
I hired My Appliance Repair Houston to rebuild my Sub-Zero refrigerator. After the rebuild, I wasn’t satisfied with the warranty on the receipt, so they wrote in one-year warranty “on whole fridge.”
The refrigerator or freezer stopped cooling and required repairs at least once a month. I have to take off work so they can diagnose the problem, and then I have to make arrangements again to be present when they bring parts to fix it.
They’ve replaced temperature gauges twice, and most recently, the brand-new compressor on the fridge broke down. I was told this was because they overfilled the Freon in the unit during a prior repair.
I’ve gone without a fridge for nearly two weeks. For each repair, I’ve thrown out significant amounts of food due to the lack of refrigeration and the untimely response to my request that they honor the warranty.
I want a refund of $2,922 and damages of $350 to compensate for the loss of food.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
