Consumer says Henderson accountant didn't complete tax return
I purchased a Big Deal for $149 to have Daniel Scarberry MBA/CPA in Henderson, Nevada, prepare my taxes.
I brought the required paperwork to Mr. Scarberry in mid-March. In mid-April, he told me that it was ready, but I needed to bring in one more piece of paper. I faxed it to him, but heard nothing from him. Despite my many calls, e-mails and texts, as of June, he still hadn’t filed my taxes.
Now, I do not have a copy of my tax return, apparently my forms were never filed, and I will have to go through the entire process, either by paying another accountant or doing it myself.
I do not understand how a professional office would permit this kind of lackadaisical behavior. I told him last week that if I did not hear from him or a representative by week’s end that I would contact Angie’s List and the IRS.
If he is indeed sick, as he said he was, I regret adding to his difficulty.
I want my tax return submitted to the IRS, which he was supposed to do in April.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
