Consumer says Haymarket wood fence contractor provided refund and repair
I hired Aspen Fence and Deck of Haymarket, Virginia, to install a fence with two gates and remove about 5 cubic feet of brick.
I paid in full for the job, but owner Clyde Wray said he didn’t have room on the truck to take away the bricks. He stated he would return later for the bricks.
He later claimed he had family problems that prevented him from completing the work. In addition, one gate now closes too tightly and requires an adjustment. He stopped responding to e-mail messages or phone calls.
I want a $50 refund and the gate fixed.
Edgardo Decarli, McLean, Virginia
I went to help care for an uncle who lives in Canada after he had a major surgery. Within weeks, he developed complications, which required another surgery and prolonged my stay. I will refund the $50. Upon my return, I will adjust the gate.
Clyde Wray, president
Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
