Consumer says Gloucester contractor took money, but didn’t install replacement windows
I hired Coastal Contracting of Gloucester, Virginia, to replace two windows. I paid a $700 deposit, and we mutually agreed to delay the work for a few months because of weather and owner Josh Klochak’s schedule.
After the agreed-upon time passed, I tried to contact him for two weeks to see when he could begin. His answering machine wouldn’t accept messages because it was always full. I finally got through one evening and we scheduled a start date.
No surprise, he never showed up, and I haven’t been able to reach him. When I initially contacted the contractor, he represented himself as Coastal CSP. Now it is Coastal Contracting.
I want a refund of $700.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
